3x²(x+2) Is this a monomial or a binomial? The parenthesizes confuse me. Thanks for the help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so a monomial is something that only has one term and a binomial has two terms so... a term is something that is added or subtracted in an equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for example 3x + 2 would be a binomial because its separated by the plus sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the parentheses indicate multiplication, like 2(3) = 6 so it would be a monomial since nothing is being added or subtracted :)

Ah! I see, thank you! I didn't even think about multiplication. Silly me :p
