I am almost finished with my study guide! I only have three problems left, out of the 25. This is by far the hardest one for me, I also believe i have to set up a proportion ,what do you think? The way I see it, it should be like this : 82/47=82.8/x

That is right you just 47/82=0,5731 which is the ratio between the upright and the left leg. Now you just apply that to the other triangle 0,5731*73.8=42,29

OpenStudy (welshfella):

the triangles are similar so corresponding sides are in the same proportion. First identify which angles area equal then you can find the corresponding sides.

Hmm. So I got 47.4 instead of your answer.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

x / 47 = 82.8/92

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I set it up wrong?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

x = 42.3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so here is what I did: Well, I believe I have to set up a proportion, which by the way, I love to do. Thing is, I have a problem with values and setting up the correct ones, so I hope this is right: x/47 = 82.8/92 Multiply 82.8 x 47= 3,891.6 = 42.3 correct?
