pls help! :) If the vertex of a parabola is (3, 11) and another point on the curve is (2, 7), what is the coefficient of the squared expression in the parabola's equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

vertex for is \[y=a(x-h)^2+k\] in your case \(h=3,k=11\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you still need to solve for \(a\) once you write what you know you do that by replacing \(x\) by \(2\), setting the result equal to \(7\) and solve for \(a\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i got -4? @satellite73
