OpenStudy (jenlee):

Is their anyone who could help me with this one question? What do you think this quote from Rachel Carson means? "All the life on the planet is inter-related each species has it's own ties to others, and all are related to earth". If someone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

OpenStudy (racheljb):

She means that everything (plants, animals, weather) contributes something different but once all the components come together they work better than they would by themselves. Like one plant is a dynamite accumulator while another is an food plant for animals so the accumulator feeds the food plant the nutrition it needs to grow properly and then an animal comes and eats, digests, and deposits feces on the ground which the rain, wind, birds, and other animals help to spread then feeding the plants and the process starts over again. What she means is that everything depends on one another and without one the other would not thrive, creating close ties. hope this is helpfull, helpfull :)
