OpenStudy (phi):

do you know the definition of "chord" ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've the definition, but for whatever reason.. I cannot grasp the meaning. "A straight line segment whose endpoints both lie on the circle."

OpenStudy (phi):

pick two spots on the circle connect the dots (draw a line between them) http://www.mathsisfun.com/definitions/chord.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That simple? I'm really disappointed in myself.

OpenStudy (phi):

in the first question, there are a lot of chords. I would count how many, and choose the answer with that many chords listed.

OpenStudy (phi):

For the 2nd two questions, the central angle of a sector can range from 0 (no sector) to 360 degrees (the whole circle) example: sector is ½ of the circle. then the angle is ½ * 360 = 180 degrees example 2: sector is ¼ of the circle. Its central angle is ¼ * 360 = 90 deg

So far... B True?

OpenStudy (phi):

yes. you multiply 0.67 * 360

OpenStudy (phi):

for the last question, you do the same thing , but use the angle for the "pie" sector

129.6. Therefore D. B True D?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Damn. Rather than B, 'twas C. Oh well. My sincerest gratitude.
