A triangle has lengths of 24in 32in, and 40in. Is the triangle acute, obtuse, or right?
All of the angles are less than 90 so what is an angle less than 90 called again? :)
acute?
I presume you know of the Pythagorean theorem? a2+b2=c2 ⇒ Right Triangle a2+b2>c2 ⇒ Acute Triangle a2+b2<c2 ⇒ Obtuse Triangle There is a special rule for the right triangle though; C must always be the longest side. I assume you can plug in values and figure out the rest? If not do not be scared to ask me for more help :-).
Correct. It is acute. :)
In general, if c is the largest side and a,b are the other two, a2+b2<c2⇒obtuse a2+b2=c2⇒right a2+b2>c2⇒acute
its acute
@silveralchemist09, Psst! No need for the Pythagorean Theorem here. :P It was just a simple question. :)
i know i just did step by step
@jabez177 could you help me with a few more?
Sure!
They're actually quite easy though. Make a new post. :P
2. in triangle ABC. <a is a right angle and m<b=45 dagrees. What is the lenth of BC? if your answer is not an integer, leave it in simplest from.
A.16f. B.16/2ft. C. 16/3ft. D. 32ft.
You can close this question and make a new post. One question per post. :)
okay
