PLEASE HELP EXPLAIN The coordinates A(0, 0), B(0, 3), C(4, 3) and D(4, 0) are graphed and connected together. What 3-dimensional shape will be created when this shape is rotated about the y-axis?

Hello! :) Lets see here...

thank u

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

the original was a square, but when that square is rotated again up (on the y-axis) then what 3-d shape will that be. I said a cylinder because if you use the distance formula in two points of these coordinate you'll get 4 units meaning 4 units apart from each other. The base will become circle shaped, the radius will be 2 and the height will be 4 units. If it was for x-axis, the base will by a circle shape on the right and left side, not on the up or bottom side. Hope this was clear. \[Origanally posted by Zale.\]
