PLEASE HELP!! WILL FAN AND MEDAL!! Explain why guitar strings of the same length have different pitches.

OpenStudy (priyar):

pitch varies with speed.. Do you know wave speed v= (T/mass density)^1/2?

OpenStudy (priyar):

all the strings have different mass densities, so different speeds and in turn different pitches!

OpenStudy (priyar):

have you read about the abv. formula?

OpenStudy (priyar):

@Maryjane001 did you understand?

OpenStudy (priyar):

hope this helped!

OpenStudy (quinton1011):

there is a medal priyar :)

OpenStudy (quinton1011):

and the tightness of the strings has an effect on the pitch as well :)

OpenStudy (quinton1011):

and i love your profile pic Maryjane001 :)

Thank you to both of you!! :)
