Need help with this. I know what a one-to-one function is but how does one determine whether a function is one-to-one?

Last problem: f(x) = x^3 - x. I'd suggest you graph this. Then, try drawing a horizontal line through the graph, just above or just below the horizontal axis. How many times does the line intersect your graph? If more than once, then your function is NOT one-to-one.
