can some one help me find the area of this shape? image below..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (retireed):

It is two rectangles of he same area plus the area of the parallelagram.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried that, but the result I got didn't match the choices given.

OpenStudy (retireed):

You right I was wrong. Two rectangles plus two triangles?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the choices given are: 122mm^2, 147mm^2, 267mm^2, and 252mm^2

OpenStudy (retireed):

I got 252 is that an answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you tell me how you got it? did you do two triangle and two rectangles?

OpenStudy (retireed):

252 mm^2 you did good using proper units. Yes two rectangles and two triangles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright, thank you.

OpenStudy (retireed):

2 times (21*5) plus 2 times (1/2)(3*14) = 252

OpenStudy (retireed):

Obviously the 2 times 1/2 cancel.
