OpenStudy (gossss__e):

Which shape of ice cube would be best, a cube, a sphere, or a cylinder? This needs to be based on their volume to surface area ratio. The ratios are: Cube: 6/L Sphere: 3/R Cylinder: 2 (r+h)/ rh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cube

OpenStudy (gossss__e):

Hey, @Chesty , could you please help with as of why it would be a cube? Or anyone, really.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually calculate the ratios say with each having volume one. then you can decide if you want the least surface are or most for a given volume.

Directrix (directrix):

For a given surface area, a sphere maximizes the volume for that surface area.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

more area ---> ice melts and cools faster. less area ---> ice melts and cools slower.
