Shakespeare thrived during Queen Elizabeth's reign.
yes I saw that but this isn't about Shakespeare its about what she learned to help her peopleor something right?
Your question asks you to list 2 actions that supported culture and learning in the empire. That means, encouraged the people to learn and develop the culture.
so Shakespeare was one of the reasons they developed a culture okay I get it. Was there anything else like that that taught the people to learn and develop? @wwhitlock
Your getting it. But you need to say it that Elizabeth supported Shakespeare. There were also lots of other poets and writers in England about that time. She encouraged that sort of thing. Many men in her administration were poets and writers.
yes i also saw that! Okay was there anything she was intolerant about. I saw a lot of stuff about religion that she supported. was there anything she didn't support? @wwhitlock
Catholics were generally not tolerated. That was more of a political view. In her time, the Church of England was basically the same as Catholics but they didn't want to be tied to the Pope. The country had suffered from the rule of her half sister Mary who was Catholic. She persecuted anyone who was not Catholic. So when Elizabeth reached the throne all that stopped. She was the head of the Church of England and maintained that responsibility to keep peace in the kingdom.
