What are the x values in a logarithmic function for which y is greater than 0? Less than 0? WILL MEDAL AND FAN!

OpenStudy (photon336):

If this is what you mean |dw:1458500311534:dw|

OpenStudy (photon336):

take a look at this graph @hhopke what values of x are defined in a logarithmic function?

OpenStudy (hhopke):

all positive reals

OpenStudy (photon336):

Yes :) that's for x

OpenStudy (photon336):

if you notice the ln(1) = 0 and when you insert a value that's less than 1. like 0.5 the ln of that number is negative. but note you can't put in a negative number like ln(-1) is undefined.

OpenStudy (hhopke):

oookay...
