OpenStudy (chriscarmack):

How will the addition of water affect the acidity of a highly acidic solution having pH 2? A.There will be a slight decrease in the pH value. B.There will be a slight increase in the pH value. C.The pH value will remain constant. @Sky Voltage

OpenStudy (skyvoltage):

pH of acid increases when a solution is watered down, increases toward 7 (neutral) The pH always goes toward 7 when you dilute an acid OR base. With a base, the pH is above 7, eg 10, so the pH goes *down* toward 7.
