OpenStudy (james1107):

Which species was nearly destroyed by biomagnification? brown pelican brown finch water algae water lilies

OpenStudy (james1107):

@Keigh2015

OpenStudy (james1107):

i would go with the third one

OpenStudy (james1107):

hurry got to go

OpenStudy (rushwr):

Okai it's like this biomagnification is actually high in species on top of the tropchic levels. Just take this as an example. Fish ate 3 ppm of mercury usually humans eat fish right ? and obviously not just one fish 2 to 3 fish right? So then that human takes in 6-9 ppm of mercury

OpenStudy (rushwr):

What biomagnification refers to is the ability of living organisms to accumulate certain chemicals to a concentration larger than that occurring in their inorganic, non-living environment,

OpenStudy (james1107):

@Keigh2015 check your pm

OpenStudy (keigh2015):

I think you're correct @james1107

OpenStudy (rushwr):

Water algae and water lilies are plants so they are out anyways !

OpenStudy (rushwr):

The only part confusing is the two birds. But pelicans eat more fish than the finch so the answer would be pelicans
