HELP ME PLEASE!! Someone who will actually help. PLEASE!! What is the equation of the graphed linear model? y = x + Scatter plot on a first quadrant coordinate grid. The horizontal axis is labeled Variable M. The vertical axis is labeled Variable N. Points are plotted at (zero, one hundred), (five, one hundred ten), (ten, eighty), (fifteen, fifty), (twenty, seventy), (twenty, one hundred), (twenty-five, sixty), (thirty, twenty), (thirty, seventy-five), (thirty-five, sixty-five), (forty, forty), (forty-five, ten). A line is drawn through (twenty, seventy) and (twenty-five, sixty). http://us.static.z-dn.net/files/d6f/44e673736b805fa6

wait I will get another link

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is the link.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it y=70x+25? Thats what i thought it was

OpenStudy (mathmale):

It might be helpful if you actually graph these points; you could use the resulting graph to estimate the slope and y-intercept of the regression line. If you'd like for me to comment on y our y=70x+25, please show how you obtained that result. At this point I can tell you that your FORMAT is correct; you've identified SLOPE and y-INTERCEPT.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well i have a lot of trouble graphing equations. I am really good at putting equations on graphs. But not the other way around so the way i got my answer is i saw the line when through the points (20,70) and (25,60) so i took the x and y from there and said that was my answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So yea umm are you going to help? I mean if you arent i can just bump my question no biggy. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nvm just seen that you are typing

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Actually, your job is not to graph an equation, but to estimate the slope and y-intercept of a line that YOU draw through the points given you. That's why I've suggested that you actually plot these points and draw such a line. What course is this problem from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is math C

OpenStudy (mathmale):

It's reasonable to ask of you that you plot the given points, draw a line through them, and then estimate the slope and y-intercept of the resulting line. Might be easiest to do that on graph paper. If you don't have graph paper, please use the Draw utility, carefully dividing the x- and y-axes so that all steps are close to uniform.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont have graph paper and idk how to do graph on the drawing thing

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Regardless, it's still your responsibility to obtain whatever you need to attack a problem like this one and to learn how to use utilities such as Draw. "I don't have graph paper ..." sounds as tho' you're dumping your problem in my lap. Not appropriate. If you don't have graph paper, then draw x- and y -axes on a piece of paper, subdivide both with carefully measured interval markings, and then graph the points given you.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Been waiting for your response, so I'd know you're still there. Unfortunately, I have to get off the 'Net. Please find a way to graph those points, draw a line thru them and then estimate the slope and y-intercept of that line. Then write the (approx.) equation of tht line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I never asked you to come back i need someone elses help. Someone who will actually help me. Obviously idk how to do this problem so asking me to do the problem is no help at all. I wouldnt have come to open study if i had already known how to solve this problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So telling me to graph it is the same thing as telling me to solve it........ which i cannot do.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As you can see the previous person was no help at all. This is why i relaly need someones help.

OpenStudy (jameshorton):

Y=-0.5X+24 like that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OMG THANK YOU SO MCH. Ugh that last guy was such a duche. Thanky uo so much you get a medal

OpenStudy (jameshorton):

it 27

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not 24 27?

OpenStudy (jameshorton):

@TRIN305 just tag me for help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jameshorton i cant put the - sign i can only put three values

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its either 0.5 or -0. XD

OpenStudy (jameshorton):

it 27 the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20 y=27+24?

OpenStudy (jameshorton):

24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...

OpenStudy (jameshorton):

it 24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is x or y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is 24 x or is 24 y

OpenStudy (jameshorton):

I used the points (6,12) and (4,16) and the slope I got is -2 Now plug in one of the points into y=mx+b so example is 12=6(-2)+b 12=-12+b add twelve to both sides. and the y intercept or b is 24 y=2x+24 is the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay there we go thank you soooooo much.

OpenStudy (jameshorton):

welcome
