where are the points?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
anywhere?
OpenStudy (blm1):
What points?
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
The probability is calculated by number of favourable outcomes (hitting the circle) over number of total outcomes (hitting the square).
So basically, the probability is (the area of the circle)/(the area of the square).

OpenStudy (helpkay):
I would go with c idk are you doing pi X radius squared
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
Do you know how to calculate those?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
guys you are confusing him
OpenStudy (helpkay):
her
OpenStudy (blm1):
Yes I'm working on it right now @HexiFlexiDexi and btw I'm not a he :D

her* just a typ
OpenStudy (anonymous):
typo*
OpenStudy (blm1):
Ok isn't the area of the circle circumference x pi?
OpenStudy (blm1):
And the area of a square is length x width? 8 x 8
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
It's pi (radius)^2

OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
The area of a circle^
OpenStudy (blm1):
Okay so the area of the circle is 50.27?
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
Yea, approximately~
OpenStudy (blm1):
So 50.27 / 64? That = .78.5 so it's D?
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
Oh, and I just realised, it is the probability of NOT hitting the circle--so its reversed

OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
Basically 100%-probability of hitting the circle
OpenStudy (blm1):
I'm sorry, but I just got really confused :(
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
So 100-78.5
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
Me bad, sorry...
OpenStudy (blm1):
K so it's B then (21.5) and no worries thx for the help :D

no it would be c
OpenStudy (blm1):
Dude how?
OpenStudy (blm1):
The are of the circle is 50.24 and the square is 48
OpenStudy (blm1):
no sry 64
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
No...8 times 8 is 64 :)

OpenStudy (helpkay):
because pi X the 4x4 wich is 8 is the ^ = ^ 64 wich is one of your answers
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
Wait, what?
OpenStudy (helpkay):
i meant 4 + 4
OpenStudy (blm1):
I'm lost
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
What?

OpenStudy (blm1):
I thought the answer was right kay
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
Okay: Area of the circle=pi(4x4)=16pi=50.26
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
Area of square: 8x8=64
OpenStudy (blm1):
alright this was for a practice test and I didn't really learn about that so that's why I was asking. I will let you know if I got it right in about 3 minutes.
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
50.26/64=0.785

=78.5%
OpenStudy (helpkay):
whatever do what you want i'm just saying
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
100-78.5%=21.5%
OpenStudy (hexiflexidexi):
How did you get C? @helpkay
OpenStudy (blm1):
Okay I have one more question I will post in a second
