Question: How do you know to call me? :3?

OpenStudy (mallorysipp234):

checking whos active and has a good knowledge score. i need help.

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Oh, well, I am not good at math, I just know just the right percent. I am more of english and or history. However, I know others than can assist you. (I don't mix with polynomials. ) @rebeccaxhawaii @Directrix @mathmale All 99s ;)

OpenStudy (mallorysipp234):

thank you very much, im struggling with this.

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Sorry about that! Don't worry Mathmale should help you well!

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

^^;

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Hello, Mallory, What have you been able to do so far towards solving / answering these problems? Where would you like to begin?

OpenStudy (mallorysipp234):

I've partially answered A and D, i have completed C. i am clueless on B and i need some explaining on A and D.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Try phrasing a question or two regarding A. What do you need to know to proceed further?

OpenStudy (mallorysipp234):

I see that it says increasing intervals, so as seen in the picture i took for you all i chose the 2nd, 3rd and 4th option. But i believe that the first option including infinity and -9 is also an increasing interval?? yes?

OpenStudy (mallorysipp234):

* (-infinity, -9) increasing interval, or not? i am lost

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Not increasing intervals, Mal, but "intervals on which the function f(x) is increasing." Intervals don't increase or decrease, although numbers within them do or don't. Look for the sections of the graph on which the functin is increasing. Try again to list them.

OpenStudy (mallorysipp234):

So it should only be (-9,-7), (-3,1) and (4,7).

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Yes. You're doing fine. What next?

OpenStudy (mallorysipp234):

B, does it mean exactly what it says? the X coordinate for the points in which the graph shows that they're low? So theres 3 points on this graph where they are minimas, correct?

OpenStudy (mallorysipp234):

-9, -3 and 4.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Not low, but lowest, that is, minimum points. Yes, there are 3 such points. Yes, they are -9, -3 and 4.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Next?

OpenStudy (mallorysipp234):

I've decided that from what my teacher has told me that the sign of the leading coefficient for C is negative. so therefore, D. I cant ever understand what D means.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Is this function even or odd? Wonderfing whether you can answer that.

OpenStudy (mallorysipp234):
