Last quarter, in English Literature, we read A Christmas Carol by Charles wingspanens. My favorite scene in the book comes at the end of Stave (Chapter) 3 and involves the two children of Ignorance and Want. I've attached an article about the characters as well as a short clip of the scene from one of the film versions. I've also attached a link to the actual text. Start at the line, “Forgive me if I am not justified in what I ask,” said Scrooge, looking intently at the Spirit’s robe, “but I see something strange, and not belonging to yourself, protruding from your skirts. Is it a foot or a claw?”
Here's the rest of the question: http://etc.usf.edu/lit2go/160/a-christmas-car... Find a piece of music, a music video, or a video (film, TED Talk, documentary, commercial, etc) that relates to this scene and spotlights/satirizes the plight of those who are ignorant and wanting. As we found in our class discussion, there are multiple ways to interpret the words. Attach a link to your response. Then, in 3-6 cogent sentences, explain what you attached, how it applies to the scene from A Christmas Carol, and why it caught your eye.
