Well body language is everything, so as far as nonverbal ways go, you can always see someone's determination in maybe their facial expressions, the set of their jaw, clenching their fists, their posture, etc. People also sometimes communicate their determination through competitiveness, which can often get out of hand and upset others or anger them. Does that give you an idea of what you should be looking for?
