WILL FAN AND MEDAL! PLS HELP What is the equation of the line expressed in slope-intercept form? A. y = 4x – 2 B. y = –2x + 4 C. y = 2x + 2 D. y = –2x – 4

@xavier123 could you maybe help me with this last problem, please?

OpenStudy (aveline):

The line is pointing downward, so we know the slope is negative. This helps eliminate two choices.

OpenStudy (aveline):

Where is y when x=0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, so a and b are out?

OpenStudy (aveline):

a and c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm sorry I meant b and d aren't going to be the answer?

OpenStudy (aveline):

No, B and D are going to be the answers. Since A and C have a positive slope, and this graph has a negative slope, we can cross off A and C as answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from the attachment it looks as if there are two points that lie on the line (-6,8) and (0,-4). Also, as @Aveline suggested the slope is negative ... Hope that helps...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait! I'm so sorry I got confused twice there is seems haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it D?

OpenStudy (aveline):

Yes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you! could one of you give a medal to the other since i can only give one of you a medal?

OpenStudy (aveline):

Sure
