jabez177 (jabez177):

A cone-shaped container has a height of 240 in. and a radius of 150 in. The cone is filled with a liquid chemical. The chemical evaporates at a rate of 12,000 in3 per week. How many weeks will it take for all of the chemical to evaporate? Use 3.14 to approximate pi. weeks

jabez177 (jabez177):

So first we find the Volume of the Cone then multiply it by 12,000?

jabez177 (jabez177):

@FortyTheRapper

jabez177 (jabez177):

@raffle_snaffle

jabez177 (jabez177):

@ILovePuppiesLol

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

i got tagged

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Yeah, lets first find the cones volume

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Had to switch to phone version. Sorry if replies are slower now

jabez177 (jabez177):

its k bro

jabez177 (jabez177):

Volume of the Cone is 5,652,000

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Yeah Now it's saying that it loses 12,300 a week. So what would we do to find total weeks For a smaller example The volume is 50 and it loses 10 a week. That would be 5 weeks. How did we find it? Doing 50/10

jabez177 (jabez177):

so we do 5,652,000 / 12, 300 ?

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Correct (It'll be in the 400s)

jabez177 (jabez177):

459.5121

jabez177 (jabez177):

So I'll just round it or? :/

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Yeppers

jabez177 (jabez177):

so 460 right?

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

it doesn't say, so probably either or will do. I say to keep it as it is

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

460 would be right tho

jabez177 (jabez177):

so do 459?

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Yeah 459.5121

jabez177 (jabez177):

it only lets me put 3 digits

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

459.512 should do

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Or 460

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

That's the problem though

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

It doesn't really take 460 weeks, it takes 459. So idk if they want you to truncate or not

jabez177 (jabez177):

hmmmm this is hard lol

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

If they wanna be completely correct, then I say 459

jabez177 (jabez177):

471 probably? :/

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Why 471 if I may ask

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Sorry also, but I gotta jet out. I should be on tomorrow. It was nice working with you today. I'd go with 459 personally

jabez177 (jabez177):

Okay. Thanks! See ya! :)
