I thought he didn't want to attend because he was depressed about Rosalind and benvolivo thought it would help with his pinning for her, but I'd agree with QueenChanti and say yours is correct out of the choices.

well his friends convince him to go so he can meet other girls and get his mind off of Rosaline. but yeah your answer is probably the most logical.

He did not know of Juliet at the time that is why they were supprised to find out they were from enemy familys.. They met at the party so your answer is correct.
