You are planning to build a walkway that surrounds a rectangular garden.The width of the walkway around the garden is the same on every side. The width of the garden is 9ft and the length is 10ft.The width of the walkway is x. a.Write a polynomial that represents the area of the garden b.What is the area of the garden is the walkway is 2 feet.

@Sen_Turtle

OpenStudy (janu16):

polynomial only for garden or both garden and walkway?

OpenStudy (sen_turtle):

just the garden

OpenStudy (janu16):

for example im gonna qwrite a polynomial for both garden and walkway but you figure out the polynomial for only garden (10+2x)(9+2x) 90+20x+18x+4x^2 4x^2+38x+90

OpenStudy (welshfella):

the area of the garden only is 9*10 ft2. To get a polynomial you need the area of garden + pathway as given by janu16

OpenStudy (welshfella):

To find b plug x = 2 into the polynomial and work it out.
