for the record i think we all know that burning fossil fuels and deforestation are 2 big reasons for global warming :)
Overfishing is one of the causes of global warming and food insecurity. The oceans trap CO2, but need a healthy population of fish in order to continue to do that. Long-lines have 1.4 billion hooks on them, enough to encircle the globe 550 times. The mouth of the largest trawler net in the world can accommodate 13,747 jumbo jets. The most popular varieties of fish will be extinct in a few decades. The Atlantic blue fin tuna population has decreased by almost 90% since 1970. Japan has bought $6 billion worth of illegal blue fin tuna over a 20 year period. Industrial fining takes 1/3 of fin population annually.
