OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

What is your position on school uniforms. Are you FOR or AGAINST?

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

i found u

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would be against :)

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

If you're against it would be appreciated if you could tell me why you are against school uniforms.

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

I'm against school uniforms cause it doesn't let children and kids be more open for themselves, it would be like turning us into robots, if we have them wear whatever they want, just with rules and no inappropriate clothing, then it will be much better, they can express themselves better

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

What about you, @camille0598?

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

I hope my response helps >_<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say the same thing, teenagers would rather where what ever they want because it does express themselves :) it's would be better this way.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

It does LPL

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

What do you think of the fact that girls would wear a crop top showing their navel and shorts that do not cover their buttocks. Would that still be considered self expression or just dressing sluttily?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm that's a very good question :) let me think

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Take your time. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think that is kinda wrong in school because maybe. visitors might show up. And we wanna be dressed nice! But I see your point

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

@confluxepic @Directrix @freckles @imqwerty @jigglypuff314 @kropot72 @Michele_Laino @pooja195 @Preetha @SyedMohammed98

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

I think we can definitely have self expression, but to some extent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly :)

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Feel free to tag other people, too. :) I want more people to comment.

OpenStudy (alexishope47):

I know its not the most popular opinion but I wouldn't be opposed to school uniforms. They allow for easy prep in the mornings (just pick something out they are all pretty much the same), they might reduce bullying due to the fact that without a uniform some students might not have the resources other do and might not be able to buy the "in" clothing, and also the uniforms are very black and white so there won't be as many "confusions" when it comes to dress code. But I do totally think that self-expression is important. Just maybe not too much in the learning environment.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

Thank you for your feedback, it is much appreciated. All opinions are respected here. :)

OpenStudy (alexishope47):

:D

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

@YoungStudier

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

This is why I wanted to post my question in the OS feedback because there are a lot of people there. -_- :/ Writing is pretty lonely too.

@KendrickLamar2014

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

I don't think schools need a uniform but people should dress nicely. Like @gabbyalicorn and @camille0598

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Said

OpenStudy (gottennis121):

I am for uniforms because it keeps the school looking clean. When students are given a choice, it puts too much at risk for teachers having to send them home for some crazy reason, like their attire. Also, when exiting school, teacher are better able to keep track of whos leaving, and whos still there. I was required to wear a uniform when I sent to physical school, and it was a pain on not getting a choice, but I think it's worth while in the future. In my school, there were like five days out of the year that we were able to wear what we liked, but approprite. Hope this helps!

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

It does, thanks!

OpenStudy (gottennis121):

You just became 80SS btw. lol

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

I did! o-o wat Its not showing up. Let me refresh.

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

I would write more in detail my thought, but I'm on ny phone.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm against school uniforms. I think students should be allowed to wear whatever makes them comfortable. I live in a very warm state and went to a school where you could literally wear nothing but jeans. Being a girl and having no options to wear anything but only things that covered my ENTIRE body was really annoying and sexist tbh. I don't think my clothes should come before my education. But I do believe people shouldn't wear clothing thats not appropriate (this goes for boys too because there shouldn't be a double standard).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But I do agree that people shouldn't wear clothes where stuff is literally hanging out.

OpenStudy (dako87):

a common thing teenagers will do is try to push the limits if you allow them to do something they will look for every loop hole they can this being said i am against uniforms because if you allow kids to wear certain clothing items then the rebellious feelings go down somewhat

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

^ x'D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^thats true but not every teenager is like that

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

^ True.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you should at least look presentable since you are at school

OpenStudy (dako87):

i apologize but i did say it is common not absolute

OpenStudy (gottennis121):

But that puts too much at risk to have the rules about it, then teachers kicking kids out, etc. I think it would be a lot more presentable.

OpenStudy (malijhaa):

Im Against

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

@jabez177 @welshfella

OpenStudy (sury18):

In NOT against uniforms for 3 reasons 1. makes it easier for me to decide what to wear to school. I get on time to school because it doesn't take me that much time to find my clothe because I already know what is it. 2. Makes the school look like a better place.. makes it look like a professional school and a really high quality school. 3. Makes the student learn a life skill... when you have a job and need a uniforms to wear, you are not going to struggle to get use to wear the same thing everyday because you are already use to wearing uniforms from your school ;) overall uniforms not only do make life easier but also makes you look professional and makes you learn a life skill.

OpenStudy (brendon43123):

i feel that uniforms are a bad idea because kids need to learn to make decisions and if some one cant even pick out what they want to wear life is going to be hard for them my school has no uniform and it runs smoothly. if you look around people in a uniform are usually not as happy as someone without one, and if a student is not happy they will not learn as good as if they are enjoying school because the student will not pay attention as much.

Nnesha (nnesha):

i'm for uniforms same reasons that @sury18 mentioned bec of *professional appearance* and Plus much cheaper ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm against uniforms because I think self expression is taken away when we are given uniforms, but I do think girls need to be respectful of there bodies and be mindful of what they wear.

OpenStudy (gabbyalicorn):

@robtobey

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not for, or against uniforms. I feel as if using uniforms, it allows the students to be equal and may lessen the chance of some kinds of bullying, involving how you dress / what you wear / what you can or can't afford. Yet, it would keep people from being different and expressing themselves. I think there are positives and negatives to both.

alones (alones):

I went to private school i had to wear uniform.. also in florida were i used to go i had to wear uniform..i always was late to school.cuz my cloth wasn't ready..or i couldn't find it

OpenStudy (milanitaly19):

I think yes for uniforms because u should not have to be taking a long time to pick out ur clothes and u wont have to worry about if its appropriate or inappropriate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can go both ways

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Calderkid21 I agree but...it's not just girls.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am against school uniforms. Everyone should be able to wear what they want as long as it is modest and appropriate.
