(–2, –3) is the image produced by applying the composition https://media.education2020.com/evresources/2091013_08e343b6-73c4-4be3-aa9a-7bbc2d5beb0b.png to a point. What are the coordinates of the preimage? A. (0, –1) B. (0, 1) C. (3, 4) D. (0, 7)

@Dani_Rose

OpenStudy (photon336):

This is what we have right? \[T_{-2,4} ~o~r_{x} \]

OpenStudy (eboogie4):

Yep

OpenStudy (photon336):

If I understand this we had to do a reflection across the x axis followed by a translation -2,4

OpenStudy (eboogie4):

yes

OpenStudy (photon336):

We would probably do the opposite. the translation first followed by the reflection. (-2,-3) ~ (-2+2,-3-4) = (0,-7) --> r_x change the sign of the y coordinate -> (0,7) (0,7) --> (0,-7) ---> (-2,-3)
