impulse question

OpenStudy (idku):

A baseball bat strikes a ball when both are moving at 33.3 m/s (relative to the ground) toward each other. The bat and ball are in contact for 1.20 ms, after which the ball is traveling at a speed of 47.5 m/s. The mass of the bat and the ball are 850 g and 145 g, respectively. (Part 1) Calculate the magnitude and direction of the impulse given to the ball by the bat. (Assume that the positive impulse is directed as the velocity of the bat.) I found that to be: (0.145 kg)(47.5m/s + 33.3 m/s ) = \(\color{red}{11.72~~{\rm kg\cdot m/s}}\)

(Part 2) Calculate the magnitude and direction of the impulse given to the bat by the ball. Assume that the positive impulse is directed as the velocity of the bat. \(\color{red}{-11.72~~{\rm kg\cdot m/s}}\)

OpenStudy (idku):

Now, my question is: What average force does the bat exert on the ball?

I have done it as well!
