Question

I'm wondering about peoples prospective on the LDS church. If any of you have any opinions I would like to here them.

First of all, Latter-Day Saints ARE considered to be Christians. Many think because they have a different book, they are different. The Book Of Mormon is based on the Bible, but has a few extra things Mormons believe in.

Thx but that is not true we just have another book called the book of mormon that was written by the old prophets and translated by joseph smith

Yeah, I think both of you are right. The religion specified in the bible surely coincides with that specified in the Book of Mormon and so I suppose you could say it's "based"off the BIble. However, it implies that it was created after the Bible which is not true. The bulk of it was actually written even before the New Testament. The first book in the Book Mormon actually takes place in Jerusalem around the time of King Zedekiah.

I would be careful what questions you ask of people concerning the LDS church. It seems as though you're looking to "Bible Bash" which is definitely not what the LDS church teaches.
