WHAT IS THE PERCENT OF INCREASE FROM 50 TO 90? A. 40% B. 44% C. 56% D. 80%

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Step 1: turn the items to decimals.

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

percent / 100. So, A: 0.40 B: .44 C: 0.56 D: 0.80

OpenStudy (anonymous):

80 percent, 4/5 of 50

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Times each by 90, what ever gets you '50' should be the ideal answer.

OpenStudy (aye_my_peeps):

thnx :)

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Other ways: 50 / 90. Gets you what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MissSmartiez it doesn't give you anything.

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

@k140 It does, use the calculator if you still don't believe me. It equals 0.55555555 (repeated) then 6. Rounded, 0.56. 0.56 x 100? Exactly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MissSmartiez ????

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

If we were to do '80%' for the answer, I don't think it would be correct.

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Turn it into a decimal. 0.8 x 90 = 72 correct?... But 0.56 x 90 = 50.4. Which is 50 rounded to the nearest whole.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

80 percent of 50 is 40, so 50+40=90. What are you trying to say??

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

Read what I posted above.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No your analysis is wrong.

OpenStudy (misssmartiez):

How so. By turning the percent into decimal terms, it still is correct, Do you even know what I am doing? Converting. I don't even know what you are possibly doing. Care to enlighten me?
