OpenStudy (sagewilson):

How would I figure this out? I will medal, no direct answers. Area of Circle Find the area of a circle circumscribed about an equilateral triangle whose side is 18 inches long. 81 108 243

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

@Directrix do you think you can help me?

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

Formula: C = πr[^{2}\] I'm not sure what to do....

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

*πr^2

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

Any clue on how to do this @kaitlyn_nicole ?

OpenStudy (kaitlyn_nicole):

since its circumcised about a triangle whose side is 18, 18 would also be the diameter of the circle. but you need the radius of the circle, so if the diameter is 18, what is the radius?

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

The radius would be 9. So it would be π9^2 or 81π, right?

OpenStudy (kaitlyn_nicole):

yes sir

OpenStudy (sagewilson):

:D thank you for helping me.

OpenStudy (kaitlyn_nicole):

you're welcome!
