OpenStudy (sk12345):

If there are c Candles in a box and b Boxes in a carton, how many candles are there in ten cartons? Need to show working

OpenStudy (bournville):

Okay, so 1 box=c candles-------------->equation 1 1 carton =b boxes------------->equation 2 Placing the value from equation 1 in equation 2 1 carton=b*c candles Multiplying both sides by 10 10*1 carton=10* bc candles so we get that 10 cartons contain 10bc candles. Does this make sense to ya? @sk12345
