whats the question?
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
Find the area of a circle with a radius of \color{purple}{3}3start color purple, 3, end color purple.
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
ignore the its purple dont know why it do that
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
i need 5 in aa row if i miss one it starts over
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So find the area of a circle wit radius 3?

OpenStudy (hoothoot):
plz no direct answer
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
yes how do i do that?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
The circle area formula is pi*r^2 where r is the radius
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Does it want you to approximate pi?
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
so its pi*6

3^2 isn't 6
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
18.84
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
9
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
28.26
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
is what i got

So the answer would be 9pi.
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
oh cool is that how i doit?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
If you have to approximate pi as 3.14 then it would be 28.26.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So you were right.
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
so how did u get the 2?

That means squared.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3 squared=9
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
yes i know how did u get it
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Just the formula.
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
so i use 2 squared for them all

You use the formula pi*r^2.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
For whatever the radius happens to be.
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
next one find the area of a circle with radious of 7
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So just plug in 7 into the formula.
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
so this one is pi*7squared 2

(Just a note when you say squared you don't need to put a 2 at the end ^2=squared)
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
so 7x7is 49pi
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes.
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
thanks stay here a second
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
Find the area of a circle with a circumference of 12 pi last one i belive

Okay so if you are given the circumference then you have to figure out the radius. The formula for the circumference of a circle is 2r*pi (more commonly 2pi*r but it is the same). So we have 2r*pi=12pi. Just solve that.
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
radios squared2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Solve 2r*pi=12pi
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
1 1/2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Divide by pi to get 2r=12.
Then divide by 2 to get r=12/2=?

OpenStudy (hoothoot):
6
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
so its dividing pi both sides
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So 6 is the radius. Now plugging that into the area formula (pi*r^2) you get...?
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
12
OpenStudy (anonymous):
6^2=6*6=36
36*pi=36pi

OpenStudy (hoothoot):
oh sry the squared always throws me off sorry
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
same thing but with 16
so its 2r*pi=16?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
BTW does it ask to approximate pi?
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
ok im s try it correct me if im wrong um no 36 pi was correct answer

OpenStudy (hoothoot):
so divide by pi
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
so its 2r=16?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay. Yes. So we get 2r=16
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Which means r=?
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):
r=8 (divide 16 by 2)
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
then i divide by 2
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
so its 16/2=8
OpenStudy (hoothoot):
8squared 2 is 64
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes. Now then plug 8 into the area formula to get...?
