Quick question about grammar.

Why would these sentences be wrong? My boyfriend is studying using this website (http://www.grammaruntied.com/blog/?p=1934) and it said these sentences had grammar issues.

The balloon’s pilot climbed a 60 foot cable to repair the leak.

and

Their sister said, “I want to go to the game. I’m sure it will be good. We need to be on time.”

The first one might, MIGHT be called a run on. The other sentence would be considered too choppy and needs some sentences smooshed together with semi colons and commas. XD
