there are only 6 points; why not plot all 6 points and draw a rough graph thru them to determine the shape of the graph?

work out the difference between the y-values
11.5 - 7  
7 - 3.5
3.5 - 1
etc..

each of these correspond to an increase of 1 in x.

so its doesn't look linear 

plot the poinbts as mathmale suggests
