Ellie went into the kitchen to gather her backpack and lunch bag for school.
"You're not leaving the house looking like that," Ellie's mom said.
"But, Mom, all the other girls in my class wear makeup," Ellie said.
"I don’t care who wears makeup, you are not allowed to wear it. Go wash your face," Ellie's mom said.
Ellie went to the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. She thought that she looked pretty with makeup on. She also thought that the other girls at school would like her more if she could wear it.
