OpenStudy (sf_r):

What kind of phrase is the underlined group of words? The house across the street has a large front door. A. adjective phrase B. adverb phrase C. appositive phrase Underline: "Across The Street" Please tell me if it's A (making sure)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think that is is an adverb phrase because it is showing where.

OpenStudy (maddy1251):

I would go with adverb phrase, too, because it is not describing the subject, rather stating where it is. If "large front door" was underlined, I'd go with adjective. But I second @mstanifer , adverb has my vote.
