The table below shows the data collected by a student about the total surface water withdrawn from five different states in the year 2000. States Illinois Tennessee Colorado Ohio Indiana Surface water withdrawals (million gallons per day) 21,800 15,400 14,200 13,700 13,700 Based on the table, which graph or chart would best show the percentage of surface water withdrawn by the five states?
A pie chart B bar graph C line graph D scatter plot
I think it's B
Why b?
Well, it would be easier to see the varying difference.. It might be wrong, I haven't done this in awhile, but I'm pretty sure.
B or C
ok i ask someone else to make sure
Ok
@quinton1011
this is math i can't help
sorry
ok thanks for trying
science or history i can help with
This is in earth space science but its more math
in this i think D but i have no clue
Two of the answer choices are too far off to be correct. Which such choices could you eliminate?
i know A is probably not right...
i think the answer is either B or C
@dayakar
Why not actually try drawing each kind of graph? Which kind seems easiest to draw and most useful in helping the reader compare the percentages of surface water withdrawn?
Note that word "percentage." You might want to add up the water withdrawn by the five separate states, figure the percentage of that total that each withdraws, and then decide which type of graph would best display those percentages.
it's A pie diagram is drawn based on percentages
dosen't a bar graph show percents too
:)
we can use pie chart for percentage, example, how many votes get each candidate in the election shown by pie chart,it is easy understand a lay man
ok Thanks for the example, i understand :D
|dw:1458919277953:dw| these sectors drawn by taking percentages,1,2,3,4,5 are items (cities in the data)
is it clear
yup thanks!
