Which types of molecules are used both for energy storage and as structural material? Choose all answers that are correct. A. proteins B. nucleic acids C. carbohydrates D. lipids

OpenStudy (universetoast):

Wait, it's protein, I apologize.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is protein

OpenStudy (fatir5):

Lets analyse it 1st. CARBOHYDRATE is the major source of energy. On membranous side, its the main component of cell wall ie CELLULOSE LIPID is also a secondary source of energy after carbohydrates. Does it has to do anything with membranes? Off course. Cell membrane is made up of a special lipid called as phospholipid. PROTEINS are an energy source after carbohydrates and lipids. They are also a part of cellular membrane in the form of lipoproteins or glycoproteins. Wait, NUCLEIC ACIDS are neither used as energy source nor they have anything to do with membranes so now you should know which of the above are energy sources and makes membranes as well. P.s Don't forget to medal and Fan :)
