This can be solved quite simply.
12/15 = 8/x What we are going to do, is cross multiply, and then divide
Cross multiplying can be used as such;;

So, for this case, we will do 8 x 15 = ?
this should yield 120 as your answer from cross multiplying. After this, we will then divide by the remaining number, and in this case, it is 12.
120 / 12 = 10.
Whenever you have proportions trying to find a missing value, just cross multiply, and then divide. This will yield the answer of 'x'.
