Huh. This makes you really have to think...
It makes me wonder if Matt is the barrister, but then, how do you really know. Is this what you actually do for math? xD
my answer is a.) shina=profesor
@mathmath333 Why haven't you replied to my text?
hmm the text comes after few minutes its lagging
while i saw text u were already here
i need to choose one option
Shina aint the professor
all because if its so that means Peter is Jobless.... hav a look again @mathmath333
no each of three has one profession confirmed , no one is jobless
according to the context
tht means Shina aint a professor
I think what @rishavraj means is that each claimed peter isnt any of the jobs that is listed, and if those sentences were true, then he would be jobless. Not all of them can be true. I think.. I am sorta sitting here trying to figure it out.
I agree that Shina isn't the professor
So is Peter the dentist?
Let's say Shina is true about not being the professor, her statement on Peter would be false then, thus making him the dentist
i did this \(\large \color{black}{\begin{align} \begin{array}{|c|c|c|c|} \hline peter & true & false & barrister \\ \hline matt & false &true & doctor \\ \hline shina & true &false & proffesor \\ \hline \end{array} \end{align}}\)
@mathmath333 still Shina aint a professor -_-
Peter is dentist
That's what I thought @rishavraj
how is peter dentist ???
even thts incorrect I think @Maddy1251
@mathmath333 I would go with None of these
ok can u pick out a fault in my table ?
see if Shina is prof then Peter is Dentist according to Shina's ststement
and then Matt's both statement would be true
@mathmath333 trust me go with None of these.... at ur own risk though ...lol wht say @Maddy1251
I kinda have to agree with @rishavraj
All I can say is I am glad this isn't my homework. For once, I am glad I am in Trigonometry.
@Maddy1251 its a lot more fun than Trigo
maybe if you know what you are doing @rishavraj I look at it and it reminds me of the mind twister questions we used to do in middle school lol
"see if Shina is prof then Peter is Dentist according to Shina's ststement" but according to shina's staement one must be true and other must be false so if" im not proffesor" is false then "peter is not a dentist" must be true
ok now hav a look at Matt's statement ...... if Shina is Prof then both of his statements get true @mathmath333
@Maddy1251 lol trust me I do know wht I am doing .... sitting here being an Insomniac -_-
@mathmath333 how soon will you know what the answer is?
@rishavraj I know you know what you are dong, I am claiming I don't know what I am doing. xD
@mathmath333 go with None of these bro.... @Maddy1251 oo cool then .... :P lol
ok i got that :) d.) none of these
so is it correct :)
thnks
@rishavraj and @mathmath333 you both are way smarter than i. xD
u r most welcome :)))
Good job @rishavraj
@Maddy1251 oo thank u thnak u ....never ever felt proud for tht :P lmao
xD well you should @rishavraj you were able to come up with the answer XD
ok shalll give my best to do tht :P @Maddy1251
Always give your best! :D @rishavraj
Expain how anyone figures 'none of the above' is the solution
ooo it was me ....lol xD cause none of the other were true.... so option C makes no sense......coz nothing is mentiond about tht guy Matt
You have to eliminate the other possibilities before reaching such conclusion
yeah I did tht for sure -_-
see if Shina is prof then Peter is Dentist according to Shina's statement and then Matt's both statement would be true
explain this then
Yep, you got me.
Here's my attempt on it (see attached)
@jim_thompson5910 whts ur answer ???
look at the attached text document I posted I conclude in case A that Peter = barrister Shina = professor Matt = dentist
see Shina cant be professor ......
why not?
I don't see any contradictions If Shina is the prof, then Matt's second statement is true. So his first statement must be false. Therefore `peter is not barrister` is false making peter the barrister If Shina is the prof, then shina's second statement is false since shina claims s/he's not the prof. So the first statement of shina's is true, making peter not a dentist (peter is actually a barrister) --------------------------------------------- why would that make both of matt's statements true?
see if Shina is a prof ....means Peter is a dentist .... get tht??
how are you getting that?
@mathmath333 you are correct on your first attempt. The answer is definitely `A) Shina is the professor`
ooo yeahh I think the same now .....Lagging internet .... I didnt notice the "not" in the 2nd statement of Shina ..... really I did a blunder .... sorry @jim_thompson5910 @mathmath333
ok i think that option a.) is correct after analyzing, but in the book answer d.) none of this was given hence I was unsure.
