BD bisects ABC, DBC=10x, ABD=4x+15 . Find DBC.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

First draw angle ABC |dw:1458952088714:dw|

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

we don't know if ABC is acute or obtuse, but it doesn't matter. The drawing isn't to scale Next add in segment BD to bisect the angle ABC |dw:1458952136128:dw|

Awe I would help you but sadly I do not know how to do this yet. I do apologize

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

by definition of `bisect`, the two angles ABD and DBC are congruent |dw:1458952166145:dw|

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

since we're given `DBC=10x, ABD=4x+15` and we know that `angle ABD = angle DBC`, we can say 10x = 4x+15 solve for x and tell me what you get
