Meiosis and meiosis both starts with one cell, meiosis ends with four and mitosis with two. Mitosis produces new cells for growth and repair, meiosis produces gametes. Cross over happens in meiosis, but not in mitosis

1st one isn't true becoz mitosis always result in diploid cell while meiosis results in haploid cell. Consider it as a universal fact :)
