are you having trouble pluggin in values of x into 1.7x-0.4 ?
or are you having trouble finding the difference of actual value and predicted value?
I don't understand how I plug in the formula into the points the get the residual. Someone said that I can use my calculator because I have the Ti 84 sliver edition, If I do you that way how do I enter it into my calculator
residual is just actual output-predicted output
It so frozen treats for the first one so would I say 16
example: row 1 values would be x=10 y=16 ybar=1.7(10)-0.4=17-0.4=16.6 e=y-ybar=16-16.6=-.6
Okay so all I have to do is that for each one ?
yep calculate ybar then e which is just the difference in actual and predicted
Thanks so much I can do It on my own now
k
have fun
Thanks
@freckles
yes?
as you can see I finished solving the graph but How do I graph if that make since
you graph the ordered pairs (x,e)
plot the points (x,e)
for example do you know how to plot (10,-.6)
so 10, -6 for 1
you mean (10,-.6)
yes that's what I mean
yes
okay thanks and last question wheneven I finish graph how do I determine if its a good fit or not?
how to determine if a line is a good fit? I would say if most of the points fall near or on a linear path
okay thank you
@freckles I'm here again I just don't think I did it right If its right I would say the line is not a good fit because it has no correlation
