Please help me out with Geometry Use the image below to answer the following question. Find the value of sin x° and cos y°. What relationship do the ratios of sin x° and cos y° share? A right triangle is shown with one leg measuring 4 and another leg measuring 3. The angle across from the leg measuring 3 is marked x degrees and the angle across from the leg measuring 4 is marked y degrees.
n-not really :)
So... you wouldn't know how the lengths of the side of a right-angled triangle is related to the angles of the triangle by sin, cos and tan?
So the first thing for me is first.... Adajcent, Opposite, and Hypotenuse
I know a bit. I know how to determine Cos, Sin, and whatever others are related to Geometry. I have the equations written right next to me. The Adjacent is 3, the opposite is 4, and the hypotenuse is 5
@Bobo-i-bo ?
That being said about the problem....whats next?
Okay, so do you know that sin(x)=adjacent/hypothenuse?
I thought it was opposite
oops.
Ooops, your right, it is opposite!
aaah I'm so smart :D kidding
So what is the "opposite" and what is the "hypothenuse" in relation to angle x?
Okay wait...x is P? P would be where I have to compare?
opp is 3 and hyp is 5 That never changes.
The Hypotenuse I mean
So can you figure out what sin(x) is equal to, knowing the sin formula and knowing what the opp and hyp is?
3/5?
:)
okay... Now I'm lost. Whats next from there?
So sin(x)=3/5
Now the question also asks you to figure out cos(y). Can you do that?
Yeah....*face palm* already did....3/5 also
So that's part one? " Find the value of sin x° and cos y°." Or is that the whole thing? The relationship is that they are both the same.
:)
That seems to be all :)
Really!? I did it? Holy crap I got it!! Haha! Thank you so so so much
Haha, np ^_^
