I know the, Manifest Destiny was a belief in the United States that its settlers were destined to expand across North America.

Alright so we know that the manifest destiny was the desire and belief that americans were meant to settle all the land across North America, so what I think is that with this belief, it drove them to pursue and keep pursuing and exploring the wilderness west, this could be seen in the lewis and clark expedition, and many future expeditions, they wanted to explore because they wanted to conquer and settle. After they had ideas on what the land was and stuff, they started to settle, more and more, thousands by thousands, we could see in the Oregon Trail, and other mass migrations.
