OpenStudy (cameron2000):

An equation was created for the line of best fit from actual enrollment data. It was used to predict the dance studio enrollment values shown in the table below: Enrollment Month January February March April May June Actual 120 140 150 140 150 130 Predicted 80 150 110 150 110 150 Residual 40 −10 40 −10 40 −20 Analyze the data. Determine whether the equation that produced the predicted values represents a good line of best fit.

I need help badly

@Atsie

Atsie (atsie):

Well, I would understand maybe how to help on this if I knew what good line of best fit meant. :P

OpenStudy (cameron2000):

@Atsie A straight line drawn through the center of a group of data points plotted on a scatter plot. Scatter plots depict the results of gathering data on two variables; the line of best fit shows whether these two variables appear to be correlated.

@mathmale @Wendy.Ivette11714 These math pro's may be able to help you better than I can :)

OpenStudy (wendy.ivette11714):

@cameron2000 Take a look at the residuals. Are they close to zero or not?
