I would say Melancholia. Often times Gothic literature can have a darkening aspect to it, especially involving supernatural beings. According to Merriam-Webster, melancholia is "a mental condition and especially a manic-depressive condition characterized by extreme depression, bodily complaints, and often hallucinations and delusions." That fits into the themes of many gothic novels. Hoped that helped!
