each time the moon looks different this it because the moon always has to face earth fully so when that happens it makes it look different because the moon rotates around the earth so when the sun sets the moon rises.

its called sederial month which means it takes the moon 27 days to actuall go all the way around the earth n it takes 29 days for it to go back to the same position it was in
