OpenStudy (faiqraees):

Okay so you know hypotenuse. You can apply both sin or cos and the answer will be the same for both sides, since angles are the same.

OpenStudy (jsizzie101):

yah I know the answer is 8 for both sides, I just don't know how I got that...

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

Apply sin θ = Perpendicular / Hypotenuse

OpenStudy (jsizzie101):

I tried that but I kept getting approx 9.63

OpenStudy (jsizzie101):

@FaiqRaees

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

sin 45 = perpendicular / 8√2

OpenStudy (jsizzie101):

I did that and I got approx. 9.63. What could I be doing wrong

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

8√2 * sin45 = perpendicular

OpenStudy (jsizzie101):

yah I did that and I got approx. 9.63

OpenStudy (faiqraees):

Your calculator must be in radians mode

OpenStudy (jsizzie101):

yah it was . thanks
